MESSAGE FROM DAVE

Message from Dave

We look forward with great anticipation for what God has in store for us in 2014.  Already we have booked the Watoto African Children’s Choir for April and we are believing for great growth. The Winding Wheel full to brimming over and all that means in much salvation.

We thank God for all those saved this year and have been added to us.  Keep strong, keep focused on Christ and let nothing distract you from his purposes, his Church and his Kingdom.

We thank God for his miraculous intervention in healing of Amy Orwin’s heart where her artery was unblocked and the healing of Amy Willis’ teeth and gums.  What a good God we have!

Praise God for the summer BBQ and the Alpha Courses and thank you to all those who put so much hard work into them.  The home groups have grown, the After School Club in Alfreton has continued successfully. The School of the Word and of Prophecy went on through the year now running alongside the Worship Central course which is reaching people beyond our church.

The Pastoral team has worked well, particularly within the meetings and various groups have continued to pray including the fortnightly prayer meeting at our home.

As part of our world vision, Martyn took a team of people to India to help in the church and orphanages.  Faye went on mission to Brazil and Matthew goes to Rwanda for three months starting in January.  The Soul Survivor & Focus Bible Camps as well as Community YoungStars went well this summer with lots of support from our church.

As leader of Christians Together for Chesterfield I’m so pleased our Street Pastors are so well established and so effective,  that the Food Bank in Chesterfield grows all the time and that we will   soon also have School Pastors.   A lot of the credit for the hard work goes to Jacky and our management team.

Praise God for the already established Living Hope Food Bank in  Holmewood.   So many people have been helped and some have found Christ.

If I have goals for next year they are: growth, growth, growth and ….growth!

  • Growth numerically as we see many saved. Perhaps everyone winning one to Christ.  Every household receiving the gospel.  My prayer is that many children and families will find their home with us.
  • Growth in spirituality as we are steadfast, Christ-centred and so full of him. That we would stand strong and not waiver so that we can be mothers and fathers to others.
  • Growth in commitment to gathering together and the spiritual dynamic that brings.  For God to have priority in our lives.
  • Growth in the evidence of the miraculous and gifts that come with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Sincerely, I want to thank you all.  You have been such a blessing to me and my family and burdens are being lifted.  Your reputation carries across the town and this is what they think:
“NLC punch well above their weight!”
“NLC can always be relied upon, they make things happen.”
I would like to think it could be said of us:

“The Lord’s message rang out from you…….your faith in God has become known everywhere.”    (1 Thessalonians 1:8)

Get ready for an amazing New Year!
