HELP INTERNATIONAL NEWS FROM ZIMBABWE

News from Zimbabwe

Robert Mugayi reports

Greetings from Zimbabwe. Our Nation continues to be battling hyper inflation and shortages of basic commodities. However these challenges continue to make us strong and continue to ignite a passion as we trust God in our lives.  As a country Zimbabwe has gone through many challenges over years and so we believe we can also overcome these challenges. In all this, we truly believe our nation is on the brink of prosperity and declare that we shall go back to our original position of being the bread basket of Africa.

Despite the challenges we have been facing as a country, the year 2020 started on a good note with Cleopas and Willet, the Covenant Church
leaders, travelling to different parts of the country preaching the word and donating clothes, food and medical supplies to the less privileged. Their trips however  were cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic entering Zimbabwe in March. In a commendable effort to curb the spread of the virus our government have put travel restrictions and eventually imposed a 21 day lockdown which we are still under.
As a church however, we continue to assist the government in disseminating information in the communities on areas to do with prevention to help stop the spread of the disease. This is helpful, as in Zimbabwe, not all communities have easy access to the internet, TV or radio to hear the messages the are required to help reduce the spread of the disease. At present, the number of people infected is 17 and our prayers are that the statistics will subside.
Our prayers are with all nations of the world as we fight this pandemic together.
