Looking forward to an action packed weekend with Andrew Murray.  He is going to be speaking at 3 meetings so be sure to get to as much as you can.  Andrew has a gift for opening up the word of God and we are confident that there will be a word from God for you.  So come in faith and invite your friends and neighbours to come with you!

Help international supports the opening of Covenant College
Help International in conjunction with Together supports the reopening of Covenant College on its South African campus in Gordons Bay, Cape Town. During the month of May the college opens its doors to train, teach and inspire those interested in expanding their understanding of Faith.
The teaching at the college will be provided through mature, seasoned international ministries,  which will unpack fresh insight into the word, our world and the purpose of God in the nations. The College will also be offering a Certificate in Theology as part of a 1 month teaching block programme, although you can sign up for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 or the full 4 week block. The programme will begin 6 May and run through until 31 May 2019.

We are excited to welcome 12 students from the following nations; Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa and Pakistan for the month of May. There are still openings should you care to join us!

How can you participate?

  • You could join in for a month in South Africa, taking time to invest in study alongside the opportunity of exploring the Cape.     If you cannot manage a month you could join us for 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks. Teaching will take place every morning with opportunity during afternoons for project work or site seeing.
  • You could sponsor or part sponsor a student for £50 a month
  • You could make one donation as a legacy!
It is our desire to work as community, into community, as such we both require and appreciate your participation in every way.

I saw Philippa Hannah recently performing as part of Grace Chapel's 10th Anniversary celebration and was reminded just what a great performer she is.  If you are a fan of her honest, country style music interspersed with her faith story then maybe you might be interested in these dates:

Tuesday 30th April  Philippa is supporting the Kingdom Choir (they sang at Harry & Megan's
wedding) at Sheffield City Hall.  Tickets from Ticketmaster start at £40.30.

Sunday 5th May  As above with the Kingdom Choir but at the Theatre Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham.  Tickets start at £25

If you are going to the One Event at Lincolnshire Showground this year Philippa will be performing on Saturday August 24th in the big top.

In the USA Easter Sunday is more commonly called Resurrection Sunday because Christians are celebrating the day when Jesus rose from the dead.  At New Life Church we believe every day is Resurrection Day.  Because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, once for all people, once for all time every day has the potential for lives to be transformed, for sins to be forgiven and a fresh start.
If that's what you need them come and join the Easter celebrations.  What will it be like?  It will be family & it will be fun. There will be songs about Jesus.  We will explain why Jesus had to die on the cross and why his resurrection is such good news for you.

Join us this Easter Sunday 10.30 am:

The Winding Wheel, Chesterfield

Firs Gardens Community Centre, Alfreton

Stretton Village Hall, Stretton

Holmebrook Valley Family Centre, Holmehall

Well done Jane and all the Umbrellas litter pickers!

Today saw the last community litter pick at Grangewood which was part of the ‘Keep Britain Tidy’s’ initiative ‘Great British Spring Clean’. Over 47 people attended the event, including local residents, umbrellas community group, the 40th Chesterfield Birdholme Scouts, Council’s neighbourhood rangers and tenant participation team. The whole group collect 43 bags of litter/rubbish from the estate.

Well done all.

Thank you
