Our first whole church meeting of 2018 is on January 28th at the Winding Wheel.  Our three groups will come together for a time of celebration . The kettle is on by 10 am so come early and get a cuppa before we start the worship at 10.30 am.  Our speaker is our very own Dave Bunting and his message is titled 'AWAKENING'.  Get a good night's sleep because there will be no dozing off this week.

Wake up, wake up, O Zion (Church)!
    Clothe yourself with strength.
Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem,
for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer.
Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem.
Sit in a place of honor.
Remove the chains of slavery from your neck,
    O captive daughter of Zion.
(Isaiah 52)

Yes, Cafe Church returns this Sunday after our festive break.  Lots of people have been asking, so I guess you have been missing the times of worship and Bible teaching - ideal for those who for whatever reason cannot get to the Sunday morning meeting.  Ben is back from visiting family in Brazil and will be speaking this week.                                                                                      See you at the Compass at 6-7pm.

Happy New Year
Dear friends,
We trust that you all have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

God has given us a scripture for 2018: He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place, free from restriction (Job 36:16)

Sometimes we want to serve God but feel restricted by finance, by time, by our health or by our circumstances. We believe that in 2018, God is breaking the restrictions off of people. God wants all the limits to be taken off as He enlarges us and our effectiveness. We believe that for Generation Builders and our family, God wants to set us free from all restrictions. We believe that you can claim the same promise! The Holy Spirit is leading you to spacious places this year as you feel truly free to move into the things God puts on your heart
Many blessings in Christ

In spite of having her own wedding to organise at the end of November Mydudu and her team went ahead with providing Christmas lunch for those who would be alone or hungry on Christmas Day.

She is very grateful for all the support she received......

Dear All,
I would like to say thank you to everyone who made Christmas day a great success. We had a 160 people including volunteers. There were not enough tables to sit everyone . God was kind. I would like to say thank you to everyone who donated I  one form or the other to make it a great success. We are so thankful. I can't mention each person or church because there are to many but would like to say thank you and only God who sees thei kindness will reward them.
Please forward my thanks.

It's a New Year and usually a time when we focus on what we want to change about ourselves.  Our New Year resolutions.  I've been thinking about how grateful I am that God does not need to make them.  That as Big Ben chimes in the new year, God's love for each one of us is unchanged.  He couldn't possibly love you any more in 2018 than he did in 2017 because he already loves you with a perfect love and you can't get better than perfect!

God has good things planned for you individually and for us as a church.  No doubt we will have our battles but Jesus has already overcome the world in order to give you victory in every situation.  Let's make the goodness of our God our confession and encourage one another with testimonies of what he is doing.

How about letting some of these scriptures lead you in thankfulness and praise........

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.

But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.

Psalm 31:1
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.

He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things
