Over £25,000 in donations from UK supporters have helped us to purchase a much-needed off-road vehicle for our social work team. Now our team can travel further to identify the surviving relatives of orphaned and abandoned children.
UK Director, Paul Houiellebecq said, ‘This vehicle is vital for our social work department as it allows us to visit communities to find existing family members and trace the history of children, giving them an understanding of their roots and identity.
The team will be travelling long distances, across rough terrain, to reach rural areas and this is the first vehicle dedicated solely to these searches.
Thank you to everyone in the UK for helping us to do all we can to connect children with their relatives and gain an understanding of their story. Because of you, these children have hope and a future.’
The vehicle was purchased at the end of 2016 with donations given by UK supporters to meet Watoto’s general needs. Donations such as these, outside of regular sponsorship, allow us to improve our care for vulnerable women and children, raising them to be the leaders who will transform their nation. Thank you for your support.

Come and hear Jenny sing the songs from her brand new album which will shortly be on release.  Those of us who have heard Jenny before would heartily recommend this lovely lady and her inspiring music.  She will be singing  for us on Friday 19th May 7pm at Costa Coffee, Alfreton.

"Driven by a passion to see people inspired, encouraged and uplifted, the music of Jenny Pegg is already touching the hearts of audiences across the UK. Jenny’s music combines memorable melodies with lyrics that share her own experience of God’s provision and hope, in spite of her struggles with chronic illness. Also an articulate speaker, her performances offer both uplifting music and honest testimony that will inspire audiences and church congregations alike."

Yes, if you are coming to the Winding Wheel this Sunday come a little bit earlier because we will be joining in with the Big Brekkie campaign for Christian Aid by serving bacon cobs.  How much you give is up to you but please come prepared to be generous.  Christian Aid takes practical help to people in need but also as an organisation takes on the big issues such as poverty and climate change.
"Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.

We work globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality. We are part of a wider movement for social justice.  We provide urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes."

Some very dear friends of ours have been and are being looked after by the wonderful staff at Ashgate Hospice.  Their loving care is second to none and such a comfort to those who are terminally ill as well as their family and friends.  This year Ashgate Hospice have to raise £5.3million to maintain the level of service they currently provide.

Could you help?
Volunteers are needed for a street collection on Sat 13th May.  To offer your time contact Gill Ashton ( )

P.S. Jayne Jones is taking part in the 10K Sparkle Walk on July 1st in support of Ashgate Hospice so it would be good to encourage her by supporting her too.
